Baccarat is a classic card game often associated with high stakes in casinos, but it also exists as an engaging board game for home play. The board game version simplifies the casino experience, making it accessible to a wider audience. The core objective remains the same: players bet on whether the \“Player\“ hand or the \“Banker\“ hand will have a total value closest to nine, or if the result will be a tie.

The game is played with a standard deck of cards. Numbered cards (2-9) are worth their face value, Aces are worth 1 point, and 10s and face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are worth 0 points. If the total value of a hand exceeds nine, only the second digit of the total is considered. For example, a hand of 7 and 5 totals 12, which counts as 2. The board game includes a layout for placing bets and tracks for scorekeeping.

To start, players place their bets on the Player, Banker, or Tie sections of the board. Two cards are then dealt to both the Player and Banker positions. Based on the initial totals, a third card may be drawn for one or both hands according to fixed rules. The hand with a total closest to nine wins. Bets on the winning hand are paid out, while losing bets are collected. The board game format allows friends and family to enjoy the thrill of Baccarat in a social setting.
