American Roulette is a popular casino game featuring a wheel with 38 pockets: numbers 1 through 36, a single zero (0), and a double zero (00). This double zero is the key difference from European Roulette, increasing the house edge.

Players place bets on where a ball will land on the spinning wheel. Common bets include betting on a single number, red or black, odd or even, or groups of numbers. The payout for a straight-up bet on a single number is 35 to 1.

The presence of the double zero gives the house a significant advantage. The house edge for most bets in American Roulette is approximately 5.26%, which is higher than the 2.7% found in European Roulette.

While largely a game of chance, some players employ strategies like the Martingale system, where bets are doubled after a loss. However, no strategy can overcome the inherent house edge in the long run.
